Let them come out on their own. Why bug them and risk injuring them because you can't see, when they are happy in their tree?

Whereabouts do you live? If you're in Ontario they could be Black Rat Snakes which are protected, and I believe that it's against the law to molest or disturb them.
Don't want you to get in any trouble!

Cheers!

Why would he want to keep an illegal (in many states and provinces) snake that is readily accessible in captivity?

i live in manassas virginia. i love snakes to death, and taking one from the wild to cage it up in my room seems wrong to me. i just catch, admire, document, show and release. the only thing i take are photos. but i will sometimes keep them over night because of conditions, complications, or ignorant locals.

Could you post some pics of them and their tree? Sounds interesting. I wish that I had a tree full of snakes on my property!

Cheers!

Wow another Viginia person
You are right about "ignorant locals" Congrats on the find and be happy that you have something like that close to you. The best thing to do for those snake is take your pics and leave them be. Too much handling and time spent may draw attention and "ignorant locals" to the area!

1: whats wrong with being a redneck?

2: and i don't see much of a problem with catching them, i dont tell anyone what i saw, and where i saw it, and i release them on the exact branch later on.

Hey Serpent-King since when has an interest in Herps been considered Redneck? Do you have nothing better to do than to be a goof for no apparent reason, if so get a life loser & leave us real herpers alone. Snakehunter is just showing his interest in observing nature & does not deserve any scorn for doing so, whereas you do deserve it, thus my comments. Mark
P.S. I'm from Alberta, does that make me a Redneck too, LOL!
