Anoles have very good eyesite for reptiles, so you shouldn't be too worried about that. If you are afraid of the anole consuming some of the substrate with the crickets, you can feed him/her inside a separate tank or rubbermaid container. The advice above should be followed. Since you aren't that knowledgable about reptiles, I suggest you and your friend do some research online, and have fun with them! They're active and personable pets! Make sure you dust the crickets about 2 or 3 times a week since your anole is still young and growing. I would offer food daily, but many don't have time for that. 4 or 5 times a week should suffice, or if your anole has plenty of room to hide, you may leave the crickets inside the enclosure!
