Unhappy wont eat, need help

i have had two bp's for about 6-7 weeks now, and were2-3 weeks old when purchased, and they wont eat, i tried pinkies, fuzzies, paper bags, and as mean as it sounds, blood letting(the mouse)

when i put the mice in my snake gets excited, and will follow one with his head above it, and loose intrest after a couple of seconds, and my brothers will just do nothing, although he did show a little intrest in the blood letting technique.

HELP!

How about you throw the mice in there and leave the snakes alone This I notice is a common problem, people try feeding by hand, they wont eat, and they figure they are problem feeders. Nope, not necessarily. Just throw the rat in and leave him alone over night. It should be gone in the morning. If not, ask again and I'll be glad to give you some more help.

My ball was attacked by a rat before we got him so he's always been skittish around food (we prekill).

We find the only way for him to eat is to take him out to wake him up a bit, then when we return him to his cage, show him the mouse/rat, then leave it there with him, immediately closing the cage, shutting off the lights, and leaving the room for at least a couple hours.

Luckily, he's phased his fear out and will now take food with the lights on and with us in the room so hopefully he's over it.

I've also heard that trying every day is counter-productive; I've heard that if they don't eat on a given day, give it 3 or 4 days and try again then. As much as they enjoy fasting, I don't think they'll starve themselves.

Be patient with the babies, they're just learning this stuff---

I guess I am just lucky? I just got my 1st snake, a ball Python, and the 1st time I put a mouse in with Cthulhu, I walked away from the tank for about 10 seconds, and when I came back she was dragging it away into her hide!

BBKaren, you were right about trying everyday being counter-productive. However after trying once it is better to wait for more like a month.

What were they feeding on when you purchased them? At that age they could quite possibly not have been switched over to dead prey yet. Were you trying pinky or fuzzy mice or rats? If you were trying mice then it is quite possible they are refusing it because the prey items are too small. Have you tried both rats and mice?

Your snakes have problems i feed all of mine on live. I just got a baby WC and hes eatng like a horse. The albino is a little wierd on the foods these days but he still eats. Always start a baby off on live food then switch to FK. Cuz they see the heat off the mouse then attack it. I dont freeze cuz its just a waist of time. Because my snakes wont eat it.
