Well, don't take their word for it and here is why....
The two Cal Kings that I was breeding this year were unable to produce viable eggs because.....

That just goes to show you that Jeff was right. It wasn't the snake's fault!
The "male" is quite distended and about to lay "his" slugs in the egg laying box I had left in the real female's enclosure "just in case". Hey, maybe by some fluke "he" retained some sperm from an old cagemate and will lay some good eggs!
