weird poop!!! Please help
Hi i've had my corns for 2 years now and this is the first time this has ever happend and i'm a little worried. My female may be gravid and ready to lay at anytime. This morning i noticed an odd poop. the best way i can describe it is it looks like sperm. lol. i have never seen this and do not know if this is normal or not. and i was wondering if anyone else has seen this. I am taking a fecal sample to the vet today to have it tested. If you know anything about this please let me know. If not i will post back what the vet says if this ever happens to anyone.
Thanks for any help
Jamie
My corns have never had any problems in the past. and for some odd reason 3 days ago my male also regurgated his mouse. I'm praying that they don't have worms or anything serious.

ok never mind i took the sample to the vet and he checked it for parasites and bacteria. He found nothing YEA!!! I explained everything to him as i did up above and he said it was either an egg that broke inside her or when they get stressed they can shed part of thier (i believe he said colon). and he said just keep a eye on her to see how she is acting.
reverendsterlin i talked to him about what you said and he said they don't have mucus plugs those are only in mammals but thanks for the help.

I'm glad it all worked out and you got some answers. Sounds like the vet you went to is experienced.
Cheers,
Trevor

thank you. yes he is very good at least compared to the one i used to go to. i was trying to find a better vet for 2 years and i stumbled across him on some website. Called him and decieded to give him a chance. My very first visit i took 3 leos in to see him and i was so shocked to see him take out a stethascope and listen to their chest then he took out one of those light things (sorry don't know the name) and look into thier eyes. My other vet i had been going to for 3 years never did anything like that she didn't really like even holding leos. he also took 2 stool samples and gave me a full bottle of meds. and only charged me 23 dollars. the other place i went to would have charged me close to 100 dollars if not more. I will never take my reptiles to another person. My vet does such a great job and he loves handling all of my reptiles. And i'm always so worried about my reptiles if i think in the slightest there is something wrong, he knows exactly how to calm me down and let me know they will be ok.
For any of you people that live in St. Louis MO His name is Dr. King and he is at Watson Road Vet. Clinic if you would like the # there just send me a private message.

I guess copulatory plug would be the more exact term, I know they are found in adders and garters. Ratsnakes I'm not sure about. Males of certain natricine snake species form copulatory plugs that prevent insemination by conspecific rivals and the loss of the plug has been described as wierd poop when found by some owners. My mistake, I should have been more exact in my first post.

Its ok i apprciate they suggestion. i thought about the copulatory plug aka (sperm plug). But i have been told in the past that corns do not do that. And thats why i was so worried. I'm always up for new suggestions though, especially if i have never seen it before. Since i do not know everything about corns. Only the situations that have happened. And this was a learning experience for me and now if it ever happens again or if it happens to someone else i will know.
