I have 2,2 foot borneos and they eat full grown rats.

What I go with is, nothing bigger then the size of the thickest part of his girt.

I agree with Jezabel... it is a good rule to follow for most snakes. All snakes will be different in girth to length so you cannot really go by the length of the snake. It will have to be your call .

Full grown rats are large to jumbo in size... that's way larger than the girth of even the chubbiest 2-footer. My 30" female is feeding on weanling rats (4 weeks old) and my 3.5' male is feeding on smallish large rats (usually 3 month females).

Bloods get superfat. My borneo is just over 4 ft and the fattest jumbo rat isn't as wide as his girth around.

a hopper for a 2 foot ball? Im no expert at all in any way but my three 3 week old ball put down a small hopper and a rat pup his first meal.... in about 5 minutes.

I like bloods more and more every time I come in this section..... which ones are the ones that are all black with the red eye's???

dvs, those are Sumatran short-tailed pythons (Python curtus). Some people call them "black blood pythons". I know what you mean about the bloods! I love em, in fact I am getting another one this week!

my female borneo is 4" and she eats 2 jumbo rats. so fat cant wait to mait her next year. She is dog tame to. How about everyone else how are the temperments of your bloods. my female is dog tame but the male wants my blood only once has he hit me. take care Nick

Our Sumatran red is a bit unpredictable, he's fine once you get him into your hand and don't poke @ his head but until then watch out! he's about 1' long and is taking small rats.
