Spiders are so beautiful. Do you handle all your spiders or just certain breeds? I know about the hairs and the venom...and the different reactions...generally.

But say I was planning to get a Rose Hair or a Mexican Red Knee or a Cobalt...naw...lol

As a beginner...would you consider handling it a risk and that I should get used to being bitten by my snakes first?

I want something I can eventually bring into a classroom full of children, even if they don't touch it.

Thanks!

Bj

Alot of people like Rose hairs for first time T's and they can be handled but i myself dont care for rose hairs, nothing against them but i find that a good first time T that you can handle and be around class room kids would have to be a Brazilian black, G. Pulchra.. Very easy going wont flick hairs and wont bite..I dont consider it to be a risk if its a nice handable T but you need to get use to handling first, sometimes Ts can be very fast and skittish..You could also look into a Chaco golden knee or a Pink zebra beauty.. Mexican red knees are very nice but can and do flick hairs.. You should find at least a half grown adult and one that has been handled..

Nice T's. Wow that is the nicest white knee. I saw one for sale at a show and the guy said it was full grown. Apperently not!!!

Oh I took everyones advice and didn't get the Zebras by the way.

first spider

for some reason no one ever seems to agree with me on this but the best first spider is a pinktoe. i know the temps need to be stable and the humibity high, but for handling purposes they are awesome and if you drop them occassionally (not that im saying you do) you will at least still have a spider (unlike you wouldn't if it was a rose hair)
