Talking Serious inquiry/serious interest only need answer

PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS AND YOU HAVE A MALE BOA .

I have a friend who purchased an 8-year old female boa constrictor. My friend is serious about wanting to breed the female with an 8-10 year old male boa. I told him that I would come on line and post a message on the board.
We are looking for someone in the general GTA area of Toronto who would be willing to have a go with us and breed his/her male boa with Alysis ( the female). She is very docile and easy to handle. Even I handle her alone and she weights a good solid 60lbs.
If you are serious about trying this with us and you have a male boa, please e-mail me or leave a message for me on the forum. Maybe we can make some arrangements.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Johannes

Why are you only looking for an 8-10 year old male? An 18-month old male will certainly do the job just as good. Weird.

Hey Jeff
I'm not sure but an 18-month old male sounds alittle far fetched to me thats only lyr 6mo to small i'd give it 5yrs until I bred the male and made sure i had no problems with him and that he is of a good weight 30-40 pounds before i'd even attempt breeding him. Just my .02 on the subject.

Then you'd be waiting 3 and 1/2 years longer than is necessary to use a male that might otherwise prove very fruitful. But its everyone's personal choice. If you wanted to only use 20 year-old males, then do so. I can't say anything about it.

Yup a male from 18 months on up should do the trick nicely and of course you want him smaller than the female 1/2 to 2/3 her size smaller males seem to be more agressive breeders.Like Jeff said it's your call but you will have better odds next breeding season with a 1-1/2 and up male than an older male with a lesser sperm count.I won't even get into the daylight and temp cycles issues with breeding Columbians(yes hours of daylight are an important factor and we are not in sinc right now with what the hours of sun light should be)It is possable to get them to breed this time of the year but you will have your work cut out for you.Best of luck in whatever you decide.Hey Jeff that beer is still in the fridge for ya man(If you ever make a show down here you slaker)

As long as it isn't an American special (can we say Coor's Light? Yuck), then I'm on my way buddy!!

I got some "killer" stuff you have to try man. 9% alcohol. If I hurry, we can catch the Leafs and Flyers playing tomorrow night (4pm EST).

I do not mean to be a trouble maker and I question the reason for placing this in the classified section. I am not looking to sell or buy, neither is my friend.
I am honest when I posted this request. I am honestly looking for someone who would be able to help my friend with breeding a snake.
This is not a classified ad as I am not looking for a sale to buy a snake nor am I looking to sell a snake which is the premise of classified ad.
If this requesr upset anyone, I am sorry for that but the requesr still stands and it is am HONEST venture for both parties.

I still dont see why u wouldnt just buy one?
Also, a question for snake hunter:
Have you ever bred boas before? I'm sorry but I feel people should only give advice if they have experience with whats concerned!

iguanaman, you probably wont find someone in your area with a 5-10yr old 30-40lbs boa that is willing to trust you enough to give you their snake for a while, in exchange for a few babies.
Why not just save yourself some trouble and buy one? Maybe it won't be quite old enough to breed when you get him, but at least you'll get to see him grow up and get to keep all the babies.

Classifieds are not only for purchase/sale items, but anyone looking for anything as well, whether it be for a breeding loan, someone to split order fees, etc. You are still looking for something, hence it belongs in the Wanted Ads
