Hi Everyone

Hello everybody! I am new to this and would appreciate any info anyone can give me. I have two Corns, an okatee and an anerythristic a. I am looking for 1 more. I want a blood red. I don't want to breed or anything I just love to watch my "babies" and take them out daily and "play with them". I heard some things about the blood red corn (feeding problems and such) Does anyone know if this is true? And are there any reputable breeders that I may be able to get in touch with? (Hopefully in the PA or OH area) but anywhere will do. THANKS

Hi Sparda,

Welcome to ssnakess.com, glad to have you onboard. I dont really know a lot about corns, as I prefer boids, and my experience with them is limited.

If I am not mistaken, blood red corns, especially hatchlings, tend to reject mice as a food source and will only eat green anoles. This should be easily remedied by buying a green anole (they are really cheap) and scenting mice with it. Or you could look for an established feeder. If blood red corns have increased in popularity and there are more CBB specimens available, then it is likely that the severity of this feeding problem will lessen over time. Post this question in the elaphe forums, and someone more knowledgeable should be able to give you a more informed answer.

Hello everyone thanks for all the replys. I did email a breeder and I think I changed my mind about the blood reds I kind of like the Miami Phase. They are all so beautiful it's hard to pick just one.

Hi Sparda and welcome to the group!

Once you start with corns, you can't stop!!! There are so many color and pattern variations that choosing becomes impossible!!! I know hehe
