Unhappy Help, i think my basilisk has dental problems

Hi everyone, new member here, i made the account to ask for advice about my green basilisk male. He's quite the feisty little guy, and about 15 minutes ago i was feeding him as usual, using my extra large thongs so he doesn't accidentally snip my fingers off. He took the prey as usual, but i heard a cracking noise and noticed a little blood on the thongs. Upon further inspectation i noticed he was indeed bleeding from the right side of his upper jaw.

No vet in my general area will take him and i'm not able to travel with him because i don't have access to a car, does anyone have any tips? i don't want him to get an infection or anything.

Thanks so much

Re: Help, i think my basilisk has dental problems

My rule of thumb is that blood equals a trip to the vet. I've had to travel ludicrously far with certain members of my pet family to find a vet before, but I'd rather that than have an infection that gets out of control. I've had lizards bite the tongs instead of the food, and cut themselves, which might not end up being a huge deal, but I'd always go for too much caution than too little. A quick google search could give you the closest exotic vet, and then I'd ask someone to drive me, or borrow a friend's car (you can always pay for the gas you use). If that's absolutely out of the question, you could just keep an eye on it--but I'd have a vet plan in place in case it gets infected.
