im still sitting here with my male bp on his 7th month of a hunger strike..its really getting me mad because he used to be a good eater at the other place he was living but stopped eating over there.
He wont even eat a damn live gerbil!
He was 1150grams 2 months ago and is now 850g....someone help?
That is a big weight loss! Even my breeder males who are excellent breeders don't loose that much weight and they are breeding and not eating. I had a female go for 56 weeks and she only lost about 250 grams. Maybe there are some internal parasites eating away at things inside to cause the rapid weight loss?????
At any rate I wouldn't expect your snake to eat until atleast April/May.
yeah true. when you feed it though try to bug your snake. Bump the mouse or gerbil into the snakes face. It works every time for mine. Then he gets mad and bites it. Then eats it.
I would not feed a live prey item to ANY of my snakes, especially a non feeding one. That live gerbil or mouse can kill your BP with one bite, and you are not fast enough to stop it. I would go to the vet for a fecal to check for internal parasites, and if all is well, he will eat when breeding season is over, late march, early april.
i dont think you guys understand....i stated that i cant get a fecal from him because he has nothing to poop out...how can i take him to the vet with a fecal if he cant poop?
