Probe placement

I have a Animal Palstics cage (T8) for my retic. I hear some people will use a hot glue and glue it to the bottom while others will hang it a few inches above the surface. I am using a heat panel and have a laser gun for temps

Re: Probe placement

I have my t-stat probe hanging a few inches below the RHP. I set my thermostat to 92 and that gives me a surface temp of 88 and an ambient temp of 82-84.

Re: Probe placement

What El Ziggy said. Just remember that a laser thermometer is one of your best tools for measuring temps at the surface of the boxes, substrate, etc. It is a worthwhile investment.
