Plastic Tubs

I got a couple of new tubs for a Reptile Basic CB70 rack. How long til the plastic fumes go away? I've washed the tubs with hot water and soap and let it air dry for a day and it still gives off a smell. Anyone have tips? Or do I clean them several times? I just want to make sure they're OK to be occupied.

Re: Plastic Tubs

Putting them out in the sun for a couple days will help.

Re: Plastic Tubs

They were probably stacked during storage so they never fully off gassed before you got them. Shouldn't take long, I usually set my racks up about a week a head of time and I've never noticed any odor. I don't think washing will help with the off gassing process.

Re: Plastic Tubs

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I'll leave them outside in my balcony for a few days.
