Please help me choose a snake

Hi guys, I'm new here, previously keeping Tarantulas, but my wife unfortunatelly forced me to get rid of them, because we have little kids and almost all of them were highly venomous. I'm looking for a Snake which Is ok with her, but cant be a venomous. Not nessessarilly the ones for beginners, but include them aswell please. I can prepare any conditions for a Snake, So even those more demanding for a care could be on the list. I would like something exotic, but with a price up to 100euro for a little one. I'll be glad to hear any of Your suggestions. As much as possible, to have a proper pool of snakes to choose from. Thanx everyone in advance.

I have a Kingsnake and I love her, I got her for $75. Ball pythons are nice snakes too. Both come in a wide variety of nice looking morphs. If you like nice colors, green tree pythons are pretty. If you have children and your wife is worried for their safety, I’d caution against larger snakes(such as riticulated pythons) if only to make sure she is comfortable. Western hognose snakes are adorable and they curl pretty interestingly, and make a fun hissing noise. Additionally, people here Seem to talk about carpet pythons a lot and thEy are very pretty in my opinion.

exotic for 100 euro...which is about $125 according to google. You wont get too exotic for that price but you can get some cool snakes. Here are the ones I have had personal experience with.

Kingsnake/Corn Snake/Milk Snake/Rat Snake will get you the most colors and variety. They can be squirmy little buggers but they calm down with age. I have 3 kings and a milk and my 8 year old can handle them all but 1. That one is a squirming, musking, slippery little thing that I am trying to work with. They tend to be escape artists so be sure your enclosure is secure. I got a Brooks for $30 at a show, the albino milk was like $170 and the Mexican black kings were around $200.

Ball Pythons are around for that price, even some common morphs with neat colors. Very calm, sedentary snake. Easy to handle but dont expect a lot of activity out of it. Still, I rather like mine. We only have 1 ball but my oldest is thinking about one as well. Our morph was closer to $200 but you can find normals for as low as $30.

Red Tail Boa - I have seen these for around $150. They get kind of big so be sure you know what you are getting into. Ours was a little more than that because it was arabesque coloring and there are localities like Suriname that go for a good bit over your budget.

Brazilian Rainbow Boa - this is probably out of your budget but a very cool snake if you decide to stretch a little. Pretty colors and an iridescence that comes out under florescent lighting.

Sand/Rosey Boa are little things that are fairly easy to keep by all accounts. I rescued a sand boa but havent taken possession yet.

Go check out kingsnake.com, morphmarket, and faunaclassifieds to see a lot of snake listings by price range. I prefer buying locally where I can handle the snakes and I pay a little more for that ability but you can have them shipped as well. The only one we have that is tough to handle is also the only one we ordered online without handling it first. Shipping can be anywhere from $30 to $80.

I suggest carpet python. It's slim exquisite snake. Carpets aren't aggressive and love branches so it's very nice to watch them.

carpets are nice but not too common in the price range mentioned..at least not in my country. If it is, it is probably a coastal and they can get big so gain, be sure you know what you are getting into.

I am sure this thread it's not a command to buy certain snake. Topic starter will read about certain snake in google. It's not reasonable copy/paste info about all carpet pythons. Besides coastal carpet there are a lot smaller carpets.

He cited a price range and in my area, the only one that fits that price range even remotely is a Coastal. That is all I was saying. Yes, there are plenty of other carpets that are smaller but they all exceed his stated budget in my area and the US online market. If you can find me an IJ or Jag for $125 to my door, please let me know, I would love one.

I always try to make sure people know about size because one of the biggest reasons snake get rehomed or disposed of is size. In my country there are areas that are full of very large pythons that have been released into the wild and are messing with the ecosystem.

what's the point buy a pet and don't know how a pet will looks like when become adult.

I love carpets. They're one of my favorite snake species. It would be rare to find them for $100 here in the US. Most start at about $250.
I think garters, king snakes, corn snakes, and bull snakes would make great beginner pets and be close to the OPs budget.

Real price is $60+ and don't forget average salaries in Ukrane. Actually I am quite surprise Americans suppose $250 for carpet that's a lot.

Small snakes, medium, or big? To hold or to watch? There are so many different options... I like the odd african snakes, but may not be so easy to find.

These are all mildly venomous (rear fanged) though, and no kids play, though they won't kill you... definitely not something you want kids to handle.

There are a couple of nice rat snakes which are cheap and unusual... also hardy and calm... f.e. Spalerosophis diadema cliffordii or Elaphe schrenckii and a lot of native European snakes, like Natrix sp., Platyceps sp., Elaphe sp., Zamenis sp. just to name a few. Much will depends on the space you can allocate, some need quite some space.
