Snakes and cannabis (dagga)

i am a activist about cannabis, i have had some questions about how this plant attracts snakes.
i do own a snake and know that smoke is very harmful for their lungs, but i have never heard of snakes being obsessed with weed.

I would like to know your opinion?

Never heard of cannabis attracting snakes at all... snakes go where they find food, they don't go sight seeing, or in your case, want to get high.

Cats maybe but agree never heard of a snake actively seeking out a puff of weed. I also would not subject a snake to cannabis smoke whatsoever - even the smallest amount. Absolutely no need to do so.

We have no idea effect it would have on a snake. We still don't fully understand the effects on us. Exposing a snake to it is careless and dangerous.

Re: Snakes and cannabis (dagga)

The plant doesn't attract snakes. It does attract many mammals that are omnivores or herbivores (deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, etc.) but a carnivore (aside from a few exceptions such as cats...even large wild cats) has no desire to consume the plant in any way nor are they attracted to it.

Smoke from weed isn't good for people either. THC is the actual drug, not the weed. Smoking is just one method of getting it.

Lets repeat. Smoke is bad for literally 99% percent of living creatures doesn't matter if it comes from tobacco, weed or crack.

There are medicinal uses but acting like smoking anything is healthy is just ridiculous.

This...but don't forget THC isn't the only beneficial cannabinoid involved (there's around 113 but CBD/THC would be the most familiar and most researched, at least at this time).

Is all smoke the same? No. But none of it is healthy.

Re: Snakes and cannabis (dagga)

Oh, come on now! Every time I light up a big doobie, my guys are at the door of their cages trying to get a contact high... Joke, Joke...

All kidding aside... There is no reason a snake would be attracted to a marijuana plant... He has no pockets... He has nowhere to carry a lighter... Lol

I'm sorry I can't help my self...

Re: Snakes and cannabis (dagga)

I live in a place where it has been legalized, and know a few who grow for personal use. One in particular wishes that the local gopher snakes were more attracted to their outdoor plants to better control the pothead chipmunks.
