white film on glass

So, I've been using reptatherm under tank heating pads and on all of my tanks, I've noticed a white film showing up on the outside of the glass near where the pads are. Is this normal? It easily wipes off. I was thinking it may just be outgassing from the glue on the pad, but I'm a bit concerned. All the pads have been turned off as a precaution. The other thing I was thinking it might be is I coated the wood under the tanks with heat resistant paint, so was thinking it may be an outgassing from that as well.
