How to convince my mom to get a snake

Hello i just want to ask how to convince my mom to get me a snake (ball python) i wanted a corn snake but my mom dont like anything too fast moving, i have researched for about a year on ball pythons. I have asked twice and she said no i asked why? First time she had no reason and the second time she said her mom said i cant have a snake. I have told her they are not dangerous she said she know, but she still said no. I already have pets and she know i am taking Good care of them. I have chickens, a bearded dragon, a large aquarium and an avairy. how do i convince her? And its not about having too much pets.

Without a clear reason why not you don't know what hurtle you're trying to overcome. It's obviously not reptiles in general.

What got you from a corn to ball? Whatever it was her reasoning might be the way. I'm guessing escape and crossing her path. If escape is the reason offer to buy a display cage. My mum didn't like mine but when i showed her it's locked in a plastic box with 1 door and a key she was fine.

my dad was petrified of by BP when i brought it home. He still is lol. maybe your mother is afraid of snakes? in that case its hard to change their mind. maybe get her to speak to someone at a pet shop who's a good salesman and who is also knowledgeable about snakes to change her mind.

Ok i think my mom may be scared of the snakes escaping because about 3 years ago there was an escaped reticulated python in my grandmothers house (a really large one) and it was someones pet. My mom is more scared of cats and tarantulas than snakes but my sister got a cat ( she keeps her cat in her room ).

In that case show her pictures of display cages with the locks and hinges. Let her see with the keys they can't get out. It will cost you more to buy but display cages are better for maintaining humidity vs glass anyway and the darkness is better for BPs as it is. Ambient soft lighting and mine will come out and explore. Too bright direct light and he stays hidden in his hide.

Hey there, so while I lived with my parents the rule was small lizards (2 max) and no snakes. Once I moved out and got into monitors and snakes, I showed my mother that they really were not that bad, she admitted that she really had no reason for snakes other than the fact that they were snakes. Once she held one she said they were actually pretty cool so my suggestion is to get her to at least get up close and maybe hold one (maybe a petstore or a friends house.)
