hey everyone my prego BCI shed last night and when it dried up a but i measured it and it was 9'2" i was just woundering how much the shed streches ????
thanks
jay
A snakes skin can stretch easily over 50% of the snakes total length. The more humid the environment I find, the more the skin stretches because the moisture helps keep the skin pliable.
well i know shes atleast 7' cuz i did a measurment on her using string but i don't know how accurate that was but she is still a very nice looking BCI!
The acuracy of a shed is very bad. I dont think there is a way you can tell the length of a snake from its shed. Since the snake rubs up against stuff when its sheding, the skink stretches. Sometimes the skin gets balled up, and when you unball it you are stretching it. I think it's safe to assume that the skink is always larger than the animal unless you only have a piece of it.
