Beautiful snakes,I used to keep a lot of them,where I live in South Africa we get some rather large ones.But if you wanna add to your collection of house snakes,get yourself an aurora house snake,that to me is the most beautiful one! Enjoy them bud

I try to find a Aurora as really beautiful but i live in Malta and it's really difficult to find species which are not Ball python, BC , BI and Cornsnake... I'm happy that the owner of the shop where i go breed House snakes himself
Anyway, thanks everybody, i think to open a thread with all my reptiles it will be easier

Thanks they are one of my favorite snakes in my collection, at least they tolerate really well handling

I love house snakes. I end up giving my little male housie to a friend as their first snake who didn't want the same old ball or corn. He loves him so far.
How is the feed response on your boys? Mine was always hungry and hit the mice pretty hard off the tongs

The young one still don't eat... all the setup is correct, the other eat like pig but this one, since 2 month, nothing. He seem afraid of it and i think he just have 1 meal before i took it so... i will probably try live food one day or forcefeeding (don't like it) with little part as even a pinky is a little bit big... I had to speak with some people used to breed them and like some baby cornsnakes, some are difficult to feed (my previous baby cornsnake refused to eat too but no problem with the adult)

African house snakes are one of the most prolific and easiest to breed species of snakes in the world. The ease of breeding is made up for by the difficulty in getting the babies to eat. The issue you are having is rather common.
I have seen a few people on this forum with them, hopefully one can chime in with suggestions. When i had mine many years ago i just assist fed mice tails until their feeding drive kicked in and they started eating on their own. There is probbably a better way these days.
