Haha, I just think it rediculous that people selling a $500 reptile are giving advice that will eventually kill the animal

Hi, contrary to quite popular opinion, many captive Varanids can become "tractable" even when fully heated (and not forced handled to achieve this). Most of the individuals who state otherwise have no idea how it`s done, or don`t bother trying. In fact if it happens it benefits both monitor and keeper (a less stressed animal is healthier).
There is nothing remotely wonderful about having an animal living in a "matchbox" for 15 to 20+ years terrified of anything that moves and the idea that "I prefer them to behave like wild monitors" is just as ridiculous considering we`ve taken their freedom from them and force them to be close to us!?
