Hi from Texas!

Hi all! I'm excited to use you all as a resource for raising snaaaakes!

After pining over sand boas for months, I brought home a very handsome Kenyan sand boa named Alan. He's my first snake in probably 10 years and he's the most handsome perfect pasta ever! There's just something so ridiculously adorable about his thumb-like head.

I have some previous experience with various herps as I used to be a reptile and fish specialist in my teen years.

I also have three parrots; a cockatiel, a Bourke's parakeet, and an Australian galah cockatoo. I've got a border collie as well, and my boyfriend keeps two parrots; an African senegal, and a black-headed caique.

We clearly like exotic birds. Now I'm trying to get him into exotic herps!

I love Zookeeper! Dave is a trip and so frikkin' knowledgeable about arachnids! I used to get my spiders there. I'm rather embarassed, but I got Alan from Petsmart. He was just there all alone and discounted because no one who buys pets from Petsmart wants to spend 70 bucks on a snek.

LOL I almost came home with a pueblan the other day for exactly this reason. I was like "he's on sale, that means nobody wants him and that's sad." But I managed to talk myself out of it.

Re: Hi from Texas!

Haha, I totally understand! That's why I have so many darn dogs! All of my dogs are rescues though, so I decided that I would be selfish and let myself get exactly the snakes I wanted and not feel bad about it. But since I don't have room for all of the snakes I want, I need to be a little picky. That's how I talk myself out of things. I say "do you want this poor sad pueblan, or do you want that black milk you've been dreaming about and FINALLY found?" Works *almost* every time!
