a couple questions on a fishtank build

So i was thinking of building an oversized fishtank for ether a golaith tiger fish or silver arowana I'm think like 300+ gallons anyone know how thick the glass should be and if i should build it incased in plywood and 2x4s with viewing wondows to brace the corners on such a large tank and if there is anyone with these fish an idea of the gallons required for these fish and if the water needs to be running would be nice also

Re: a couple questions on a fishtank build

You'd likely get more responses posting that question on an aquarium forum, not many folks build large aquariums for reptiles. Check out monsterfishkeepers.com, a bit of searching that forum would likely turn up the info you want. Personally, I'd just buy a used tank rather than go to all the hassle of building one. My 7'x2'x2' 220 has 3/4" glass, though it's an older tank.

+1 to a visit to monsterfishkeepers. It can be a dangerous place to lurk, site members have put together some very impressive aquariums and enclosures.
