I've tried that approach, but its not the same. A well-lit room is always a good thing, but your visibility into the enclosures will still be pretty limited.

Lights on the room are fine but you'll cast a shadow into the back of the enclosures anyway. I have led strips in my pvc cages. Boas is on a timer my bps I only use during cage overhaul or odd time I want to watch him. I usually use room light though as it casts shadows and disturbs him less.
