NPI cage and radiant heat panels?
Hi snake lovers. My bull snake needs a larger home. He's currently in a 4 foot proline cage but I'm considering a 6 foot NPI. The only thing I don't like about it is the way it slopes. I will only use an rhp and was wondering if any of you have used an rhp in an NPI cage.

Re: NPI cage and radiant heat panels?
NPI is the company that took over the former Neodesha cages, which were the industry standard 25 years ago. I've used them for many, many years, and still have quite a few of them that I cannot seem to part with. My honest assessment of these cages is this: they're butt-ugly and the slanted versions are very awkward to use in a large collection, since stacking them requires a shelf or stand of some sort. However, they're quite functional and may outlast many of your reptiles. I use either UTH or basking lights for my Neodesha cages, so I cannot comment on the use of a RHP in one of these models, but I'd imagine that the slanted versions might require a higher wattage than you'd normally use.

Re: NPI cage and radiant heat panels?
i wouldn't think a bull snake would need a 6ft cage, it would probably be just fine in a 4x2x2

Re: NPI cage and radiant heat panels?
A 4x2 would suit a snake up to 8 feet...

its not a snake of huge girth, its a slender snake. I had an 11 foot retic in a vision 322 which is only 3 feet wide and she loved it so yeah i think a 4x2 would be perfectly fine but that's just my 2 cents.

Re: NPI cage and radiant heat panels?
I'm going to agree with you guys. I think a 4x2 is perfect for even the largest bull. My female is 6.5 ft and she's in an AP T8 (4x2x1) and I can't imagine her needing anything larger. Not that there's anything wrong with more space.
