Reptile Based Tattoos

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this type of thread is allowed but I was thinking of future tattoo ideas, if anyone has or has seen an especially cool reptile-ish tattoo I would love to see pictures. My idea would be something like a green tree python curled over my shoulder or something like that. Or maybe a mustang Shelby cobra symbol combining my love of cars and reptiles
Cheers,
Richard

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

Have you seen a film called the Crying Freeman. The bloke in that gets the most insane full body dragon tattoo. That would be cool!

Funny you should mention it though as it's my 40th in a month or so and did my 30th my wife got me a tat and I've been thinking about getting another for my 40th and have been thinking of something reptile related.

I'll let you know if I come across any good sites for inspiration.

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

I've seen some amazing ones. I've been toying with the idea myself, thinking about getting one of my king girl for my first tattoo. I just haven't figured out exactly what I want and placement. Instead of realism, I want to a tattoo of just her markings which would have a pretty cool effect. In other words, everywhere you see the chocolatey brown/black coloration on her body is where the ink would be. No shading or detailed scales, just the markings. Considering getting it on my forearm and having the design possibly wrap around something else, like a flower or something to make it more feminine and pretty instead of just a blocky bunch of markings in the general shape of a snake haha. It's supposed to be unclear for the body while the face will be very clearly snake because of her markings outlining each scale.

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

These are two rattlesnakes done in an American traditional style. I got them well before I had any idea I would be owning snakes and their meaning has to do with my dog Loki. Unrelated to reptiles but for the love of cars I do have a Ferrari black stallion in a dessert scene to make it less overtly obvious.

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

That's pretty cool, a few years back one of my co-workers showed me her various tattoos, most were reptile based, I wish I had a picture because they were totally sick, that memory prompted me to start this thread

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

I've seen quite a few reptile-oriented tattoos that I really like. I know a guy who has a rattlesnake reared up and on the face there is a gas mask...looks awesome. My tattoo is not reptile-based, but I would definitely consider getting something of the sort in the future.

I've thought about getting the Shelby cobra as well (big mustang fan here, and of course a snake fan as well).

Re: Reptile Based Tattoos

The guy that used to own a local herp shop had some awesome geckos on his forearms. I think one was a flying gecko and maybe a Tokay if my memory is serving me correct. It looked like they were crawing up and down his arms, sorry I don't have a picture, but I'd say if it's an animal you like, with artwork done well, then you can't go wrong!!! Good luck!
