Meaning of locale!

Sorry guys feel silly asking. New to the all the slang words of the snake world, what does the word locale mean? For eg. Have any idea for what locale

Locality/locale is where the snake would be located in the wild, it's not really taxonomic.

So for example locality would be here: Species -> subspecies -> locality

Since boa constrictors are so easy an example, here's what it means in real terms:

Boa constrictor -> Boa constrictor constrictor -> Suriname Boa constrictor constrictor

Here in Oz, there are different patterning on pythons from different areas, or locales. So a jungle or a coastal might look different from one area/locale to another, but it will still be a jungle or coastal.
