Round out my collection
Hey girls and guys
I've really enjoyed holding a thin small snake while Banzai is just a noodle. Eventually he will grow up to be a big boy. So I'm looking for a snake to round off my collection. A big boa, medium BP and a ?. Considered hogs, a childrens python but would like other suggestions. Looking for a slim bodied snake. I've always liked the milk snake colours and how they mimic coral snakes. But I don't like the musking part. I'd rather get bitten then sprayed. Are milks really like that? Any other suggestions?
I have a exo terra human skull and want to see the snake slither out of it lol

Re: Round out my collection
I find that the Milk Snake calm down fairly quickly and stop musking after a month or so. I can't remember the last time I've been musked or even had one of mine attempt top bite me. If you want a thin bodied snake, I don't think you can get much thinner than one of the vine snakes. My issue with them is that many of them seem to only want to eat lizards and I like lizards too much to use them as a food item.

Pick the right milk snake and it's less likely to happen.
Hondurans and sinoloans I found to be less likely to musk. Those two are also the larger milk snakes. You could go back to the mexican black kingsnake.

Re: Round out my collection
I had a vine snake once. As cool as they are not ready to do that again. That one was on rodents and no source of feeder lizards near me. Maybe one day I'll try again with a vine.

It crossed my mind, males are hard to come by. Waited months with no luck.

Re: Round out my collection
King snakes are a lot of fun to keep. A Speckled King or MBK would be a nice addition.
