After lurking the boards here off and on for a few years, I figured it was finally time to join in. Hi!
My husband and I adopted our first snake just over a week ago: a beautiful ball python. He spent most of the first week hidden away, but he was also in blue when we brought him home so I wasn't really expecting to see too much of him between the move and the shed. He's finished shedding now though and started peeking his head out of the hide on Friday. We offered him a small f/t rat on Sunday and he took it pretty much immediately. Since then, he seems to have settled into a routine of coming out and looking around for a bit each morning and evening.
I was so pleased and relieved that he took the first meal we offered him. After reading about others' experiences with ball pythons fasting (often after a move or some other stressful event), I was fully expecting to have to wait
months for him to start eating for us.
Anyway, there's my very long-winded, excited newbie introduction. Looking forward to know my new BP and these boards a bit better.
