Future snakes!
Hi everyone,
I bet alot of you have a snake in mind that you really want, be it a bloodpython or something like a beauty rat snake.
So i was wondering: what is your dream or future snake, do you want to keep big or small or do you want to make the next step and work with giants or hots?
Personally, my future goal is the Inland taipan, the East or West African gaboon viper, the Eastern green mamba (which i'll get next year) and a Green tree python (that i'll keep in my living room.)
I think it's interesting to see what snakes other people have on their lists!

Re: Future snakes!
My current dream snake is a high red Brazilian rainbow boa. I've been stalking like three different BRB breeders on Facebook to see if their high red pairs have any luck, haha. I will have an empty tub for a hatchling soon

Re: Future snakes!
For me the dream snakes are unreachable because of my health problems... but my future will be pair of Japanese Rat Snakes (E. climacophora), Four-lined Rat Snake (E.quatuorlineata), some hognoses (H.nasicus, maybe L.madagascariensis), and more corn snakes (P. guttatus)... and maybe anerythistic Russian Rat Snake (E. schrenckii). But it must wait till we build and move to the bigger house

Why??? Ive never encountered one that wasnt absolutely evil. Even a staff member at a reptile zoo in Toronto told me theirs is the only snake there that wasnt defensive but flat out agressive! lol

Because mate I think they are absolutely stunning, and I suppose it would be like owning a hot snake just because you can't handle doesn't mean you can't admire and love it for what it is

I'm looking to add a high red BRB as well in the next few years. Would love to know what breeders it is you are following, I'm familiar with only one high red breeder.

I'm following Ike (he has a high-red pair), Living Gems reptiles (they have two to three red pairs), Rainbows-R-Us (has some high red snakes), and some other miscellaneous Brazilian Rainbow Boa groups on FB.
I haven't really seen anyone with successful high red pairings this year yet, but maybe a high color pairing will pop out a high red? I may have to wait until next year, heh.

They are big mate I'll not argue that with you, but then who's to say Jenny will always be her charming self in which case we could end up with an 18ft+ snake which is a handful to deal with. It's just one of those things you have to consider before taking one of these big snakes on. I hope you don't think I'm arguing with you RD mate I'm just trying to answer your questions as best I can
