Question Rat breeding info

Can someone point me in the right direction as to where to find info on breeding rats. I am moving and have to start breeding my own as the 1 pet store does not sell rats or mice.

Thanks for any advice and help:w

I run my colonies in 1.3 groups and find this works well. Its best to leave the colony in tact (don't add or remove babies, new breeders, etc). If you were to remove the female and her offspring you would be counter-rpoductive, the female needs to be impreganted after she has given birth to her babies, so that by the time they are weaned, she will have another litter ready to be on their way If you were to separate her, the male couldn't impregnate her, and you would have to wait until the babies were weaned, and then place her back in with the male and wait You can handle pinks without worry about them getting eaten because your smell got on them, this is an old wives tale. So if you happen to have had a litter born on cleaning day, go ahead and clean the cage, no worries Always provide ample food and water, otherwise the babies will get eaten. Asides from that, it is very easy to do, they take care fo everything so long as their is food and water
