Shiny!
Sherkaner just shed today and I've noticed that the more black she gets, the more reflective her scales become! My other snakes get real shiny, but the others aren't dark enough to reflect actual images.
It's blurry and distorted, but here my head is reflected in some of her scales:
And check out how her face is reflecting the view from my balcony here:
I'm also happy to see that the cute little white bib on her chin appears to be staying for good! I was hoping it would. The patterning on her tail looks like it's going to disappear completely. I'm not really seeing much brown any more. Not sure whether the white flecks on her lower sides will stick around or not.
After years of collecting shiny Pokemon, now I have a shiny snake too No Masuda method or pokeradar abuse needed for this one!

Re: Shiny!
Gorgeous! I didn't realize that pine snakes came in black! I also just realized there were white-sided gopher snakes, too....I saw a few at the convention this weekend and now I'm considering one in the future. Probably won't get one though because I love my boa constrictors too much. :P

The black pine snake, Pituophis melanoleucus lodingi, is the only hypermelanistic(super black) pine snake They have varying amounts of brown and/or white patterning as hatchlings and turn all black as they grow. Some retain brown stripes on the tail or a white bib on the chin. Very impressive snakes.

lol Unfortunately I want to make sure that the new girl I've got and Sanji have their adult enclosures before I add any more. Luckily River's set. Enclosures are expensive, and I don't like the idea of having to buy a bunch at one time....
I also have other snakes I'd like to get over a gopher right now. lol If there's still room after that, then maybe. But I'm thinking of just expanding on my boa constrictors from here, and maybe add a few more BRBs and garters.
