Help needed to identify python.

This is listed as a 'Vanilla het hypo ball, aka ghost'. A ghost looks different though. I am confused. Couldn't find any picture elsewhere online, or any info on this breed, for that matter. Is anyone able to identify this snake? Many thanks.

Re: Help needed to identify python.

It looks like a vanilla.

Het means it carries the gene but doesn't show it. Hypo is also known as orange ghost or simply ghost so that's probably the confusion in the wording.

So it is a vanilla with a ghost gene that is not visible?

Yes. Ghost is a recessive gene. Both parents need to carry the gene for it to show up in the babies.

Either the animal is homozygous which means it IS a ghost and you can see it.
Hetereozygous means it carries the gene but you can't see it.

Meaning to get a homozygous hypo you would need to pair it with either a homozygous hypo or another het amd hope you catch the visual.
