UVA/UVB bulb and heat?

I have recently set up a small 10g turtle tank. I have a filter and water and all the decor but I am unsure of the best approach for the light. In the basking area, which is roughly 4-5in away from the screen lid, I would like the temp to be around 80-85. What I am wondering is how much heat does a UVA/UVB bulb put off. Bare in mind that it will likely be a small hood or some light that will fit a standard 10g tank. I would love some advice so I don't waste my money. Thanks

I would combine it with a ceramic heat emitter. In my experience, they irradiate a very low heat and wouldn't work as basking heat.

Depends on if you're talking about a florescent bulb or a mercury vapor bulb. Florescent put of very little. Mercury vapor bulbs put out a lot. All of the ones I've ever used would have your basking spot at 140+ degrees at 8 inches, probably.
