Epic win from Petco
So today I went to our local Petco and caught glimpse of a strange lil' snake in with the normal ball pythons. As luck would have it, it was feeding day. My Petco has a tank full of normals and a tank full of pastels. Apparently, there was was a mix up and the largest pastel got put in with the norms after eating. So what do I do? I buy it right before the two other customers (who had secretly pointed out the error as well) got a chance. I slipped right by paying less than $60 for the snake. When I got home, I found out that it was a healthy female! While the other bp's where probably around 90 grams, this lil' gal was a whopping 300 and was 24". Score! I'm going to Repticon in a couple weeks. Maybe I should get a spider male and produce some bumblebees!
Haha jk. Maybe when she's older.

Re: Epic win from Petco
The Petsmart around me sells them for $110, but I've never heard of their morphs being female; can't speak for petco. I sold my female pastel hatchlings last year for $65.

The pastels are the only morph my Petco sells under $100, and that's just because they're $99! Lol.
I'm pretty sure our Petco has legitimately unsexed snakes. Out of the four I've bought from them (two corns, a boa, the bp) only one was male. Maybe I just got lucky? :3

Re: Epic win from Petco
I wonder what the price difference is from American to Canadian petco, petsmart prices I couldn't imagine they would differ too too much

We have Petcos here? Interesting, I always thought it was strictly an American pet store chain.

Not from any breeder by me. Prices have come down, but not that much.

For a norm or pastel? I've never seen a pastel that cheap.

Re: Epic win from Petco
Okay that's the low end of a female pastel.
$35 - $50. At a show or speak to a mid - large breeder. They don't have time for those sales usually and will be sending them to the wholesale market for the same or less in a large group.
