Quick Question

Hey all,

Would polysporin be an affective cream to disinfect my Malayan Horned Frogs wound it suffered from a fall of a rock inside its cage?

Or is there a better cream to use to care for it?

I would be wary about using polysporin, as I have never heard anyone using it on amphibians before. How severe is the wound? If you feel it really warrants the use of a topical treatment, I have heard that a diluted Bactine solution works well. Maybe someone with more amphibian experience will be able to give you a more definite suggestion. Good luck

Don't bother it won't stick if it gets wet at all, even damp. I've tried it on my newt and it just floats away. Yes it's directly in the water but even when I dried off the leg and applied it to it, it never stuck.

Is the wound actually infected? If it is there is a liquid polysporin you can apply easily by just dripping a drop or two on the wound.
I have used this many many time on many wild caught frogs that have come in with abrasions.
