New to Forums, New to Snakes, Not new to motherhood
My husband and I have two girls, and now a Sinaloan milk snake. Or so that's what the pet store said. The also said he'd only eat three pinkies, he ate six. They said he was hyper, he's not. What they didn't say was his age or sex. I use he because I don't know. He's about 12-20 inches long. Has 17 bands not 13. I haven't weighed him yet. I've done a good deal of research I have his terrium set up well I think. 84/86F hot side, 75/77F cool side. Two hides. And a plant that Jasmyn Blaise (my daughter not my snake) said Blaze (the snake) had to have. Yes, the child named the snake after herself but so far it fits! He's got a scar on his head we did notice til we got home, but my daughter wanted to "Save" that snake. She was under the impression he was in danger, I don't question kid intuition. It was her present anyway. He seems happy now when we see him. If I ever figure out how to post pictures from my phone I will. Thanks for reading my book. All advice is welcome.

Re: New to Forums, New to Snakes, Not new to motherhood
Welcome and best wishes. Please post pics of your snake and set up when you can. If your snake is eating (6) pinkys in one feeding he should probably be on fuzzies or hoppers.

Re: New to Forums, New to Snakes, Not new to motherhood
Pet store "pros" suck. Welcome to the forum. If he's eating 6 pinkies he'll probably take 2-3 fuzzies if not a hopper or two. He most likely seems happy when he sees you because he associates you with food.
What I do to post pics from my phone is use the photobucket app, upload the pics to there and grab the link and post it here with the img tags.

Re: New to Forums, New to Snakes, Not new to motherhood
Thanks so much. We had already figured the pros weren't that great. We are going to try fussys even though the the lady at the store said she he backed off. I don't feed him/he my husband does that. I don't do much with him yet, still getting over my fear.Maybe that's why I scream food! Lol. I'll get the photo bucket app now.

Re: New to Forums, New to Snakes, Not new to motherhood
I'm doing well. I've held Blaze once. I talk to him/her often since my insomnia keeps me up at night, I have no fear as long as it stays in the enclosure or out of my personal space. Which is a huge step for me. I used to not even be able to go in the snake section of a pet store. I have a strange feeling we will have more snakes in the future. Although we have to get my other daughter's frogs first. Lol
