My Jeweled Eyed Lacertas
These are my European Jeweled Eyed Lacertas. They will be 7 months old in August. I bought them January this year. I have two in a 3x2 wooden enclosure. The first picture is my male named Gozilla and the second picture is my female named Isabella. I puchased them from Underground Reptiles and they came in shipped and well packaged. They ate the first day with me! No week wait to feed! They just ate nightcralwer worms today.

Re: My Jeweled Eyed Lacertas
Are you sure that the first pic is of a male? Looks like a female to me
Sorry I should probably be more specific. The reason I ask is that males tend to have longer noses and wider heads than females do. Also females have stubbier noses they look 'turned up'it could be that the bottom pic is of the male it's hard to see the head. Here are really crappy pictures of my pair

I have on several occasions watched him nip and chase the other lizard and he has developed jouls on his neck. Not to mention he is two times larger than the other lizard, as well as his head is broader than the other lizards head.

Re: My Jeweled Eyed Lacertas
O ok in the picture his head looked really shallow.
My female beats up on my male and she's half his size

Re: My Jeweled Eyed Lacertas
Thank you I've had them for three years. My female is crazy bright just like her mate. She's nasty though

The angle of the picture of my Lacerta is definitely not showing his head, you are right. That is quite funny, my pair are young compared to your lizards. I would be really surprised if my female actually did "beat up" on her cage mate!

That is good amount of time you have had them! I bet if you took a picture with a good camera your Lacertas colors would look brighter.

Re: My Jeweled Eyed Lacertas
My female is about 6 mos younger than my male. He tolerated handling until she came along. Now? Forget it. She takes his food, his basking spots (I have several but she always wants whichever he's on) she nips at him, when it comes to breeding she chases him and flicks her tail until they lock, also she rides on his back. They are so bizarre.

haha That is very unusual! It is rare for a female animal that dominant.

The pictures I posted are not great. I wanna post a full body shot if my lizards. Yeah, I get that, picture taking is time consuming and tough!
