Had my first bite

So my BCI just bit me for the first time a couple weeks ago. I know they're not normally known (or so I see online) for aggresion, but it still make me nervous handling her to date. I know the reason she bit me origianlly was my fault, I was taking her from the cage to clean her poop and she didn't have a good grip on me when I pulled her out, so she ended up biting my free arm. It didn't hurt and I put her back right away but I had her out the other day and she seemed just fine, i was the one who seemed to be more effected by it. Not sure what I'm looking for, maybe just some reassurance, but I just want to make sure moving forward I wont have to worry (as much) about being tagged or some advice from those who have been bitten. Also, do snakes seem to remeber this and change because they've attack now? I know this is a lot in one post, Sorry!

Re: Had my first bite

Snakes have off days just like people, you probably just happen to have caught yours on a bad day

Re: Had my first bite

haha thanks guys! It just makes me nervous, because while it didn't hurt, I'm scared it can hurt her. Plus I don't want her to get aggresive moving forward. I would like my daughter to be around her when they're both older haha

Welcome to the club! In my personal experience, you have nothing to worry about. As long as she hasn't shown a pattern of aggression, and doesn't show any after your fine.

As you self admitly said, you got bit because of your mess up. Everything should be fine.

It happens every now and then. You have nothing to worry about, everyone gets bit eventually. Just continue to be confident in handling her and try not to startle her and you'll be fine
