Injured snake -help?

Hey guys.
I've never owned a snake, but have found plenty of them in my backyard and love them. Haha
my roomie called me out today, and she had hot a moderately sized black snake with her weed wacker.
now, I know snakes can still move after their dead? But, I'm just not sure.
the injury didn't bleed much? So its shallow; I think, and its right behind the ear spot.
I placed the little guy in a shallow dish with some warmed water, and he moved and wiggled like he wanted to swim.
the thing is though, he won't move his head or a few centimeters after the injury.
the rest of his body is functioning though.
Is he dying, or already dead? :/

Re: Injured snake -help?

That's a hard call. Could you post pics of the animal and it's injury?
