From what I understand, bloodred/diffuse is a pretty tricky gene. For one thing, even snakes carrying the diffuse gene but which were selectively bred as bloodreds can often express a reduction of black pigment and/or a hypererythristic effect. Furthermore, even some snakes which are only het diffuse can sometimes show a degree of diffuseness to their pattern. The whole situation is made more peculiar because of the fact that many different breeds have their only bloodlines of bloodred. Finally, there is a common opinion that many bloodreds also posses another gene known as "masque" that isn't fully understood, but is supposedly responsible for a lot of the traits posses by bloodreds(skull shaped head pattern, reduction of black pigment and strange saddle shapes).
What I'm trying to say here is, don't try to imagine what this snake will look like in 3-4 years. It's very likely that it won't end up looking anything like to envisioned it would.
