Herps and University Dorms
hey guys...In a year I'm going to university (Toronto lets hope) and was wondering if anyone has run into specific policies on no herps in the dorms...I'm thinking I'll have to get a house with housemates or and apt. rather than a dorm....I'll be keeping crested geckos (I'd like to be breeding them by this time) not giant snakes or anything
Any help is appreciated :medopen:

PuNkuPoNAsTAR, I have a couple of friends at U of T, and as far as I know, they do not allow any pets in their dorms. It would be much easier to rent a house or basement apartment.

It's quite common for most universities to ban any sort of pet. You're better off either waiting til your second year if you must experiance dorm life or finding alternative housing.

in a few i know of around here, USA, you can have anything that lives in a small cage or small tank. but to be safe, since most dorms have more than one person to a room and you cant chose who you room with a lot of times, i wouldnt want them coming in with buddies while i was out to class and messing with it and hurting it. i would try to live off campus. safer in my oppinion for the animal. and less stress on you.

We were not allowed to have anything but Fish at my Dorm. I still had a tonof animals though. I made a little mark on the floor so i could open the door enough so it didnt look like I was hididng anything, but you still could not see them, lol.

Thanks guys...I think I will have a house or apt....:P Is there a lot in Toronto?
Well, technically it's Toronto @ mississauga. I want to be breeding them, so it'll be nice to have a bit more space...

lol NO HEATHER There's absolutely no houses or apartments there... *shifty eyes*.... none at all... so don't look.........
You goofus! Go the York website and the housing section and they give a list of everyone who is willing to house/rent out flats, apps, etc... I know you're going to Toronto but I don't know if the U of T has a website for it
