Easy Cheap Food

Can anyone direct me to a good and cheap food source? I only need pinkies and fuzzies currently. I am paying 12 dollars for 6 fuzzies and 6 dollars for 3 pinkies. I don't exactly have a lot of money, so I am trying to cut it short when it comes to feeding. Anyone mind helping??

Re: Easy Cheap Food

If you have a local reptile expo, I would suggest there. I got my lastest pickup from a show around me, paid $15-18 for 10 fuzzys and 10 eat pups.

Sharlynn93, that require money for the mice as well. Not the ath I was going for. But I have thought about it.

Kwhitlock, I think Repticon is coming soon. I have three buddies that will be going, maybe they could give me a ride. Thanks for the advice.

Expos are probably your best source for inexpensive feeders. The next best option is probably to buy in bulk online. I use layne labs personally but you can also research rodentpro.com or micedirect.com. Even with the shipping costs its much less expensive than pet store prices.

Re: Easy Cheap Food

If you feed F/T mice, why not pitch in with your buddies and do a group buy in bulk. You can get pinkies for as little as 12 cents each and fuzzies for 10 cents each in batches of 100. The shipping isn't cheap, but split three ways it should be manageable. Just a thought... Frozen Mice, Frozen Rats, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chicks and Quail

this is great advice.... but if it turns out to be still too expensive, definitely look into your local expos. They are very cheap; typically about 70-80 cents per adult mouse, depending on the vendors. Good luck!

Yeah I use Rodentpro myself. Layne Labs is another good online source. Shipping is a little steep but the second best alternative to picking up feeders at a reptile show.

Re: Easy Cheap Food

I decided to go with Mice Direct and got 50 mice in total. The shipping is what crushed me. But, in the end, 25 feedings in all.
