a good night! :)
after 3 months of picky eating, and 5 weeks of NO eating...I finally got my AC garter to eat...no worms anywhere in town (not even walmart), still refusing pinkies, even live, brained, etc....I got a salmon filet, cut it up, and got her to take 2 nice size chunks! finally something in her belly! she snapped them right up!
Iris should be shedding tonight, was going to fluff her eco earth and leave her be, but she wound herself around my arm and as I was rinsing her dish she was crawling for the sink...so I put some warm water in it and she dove right in...was in there for quite some time and some of her skin started coming off in the water...so not anticipating a 1 piece shed, but close to it..her humidity has been 90-99% since her last shed...
Persephone is now fully in blue...not expecting a clean shed from her either, since I have been treating her for her scale rot and every bath I see flakes of belly scale floating on the water...idk if they are old shed scales from a previous bad shed or if it is a symptom of the scale rot...oh, and she peed on me during her bath
Odin had a terrible shed last week, but Perri had a perfect one this week...odd, since their husbandry is the same...and Odin spends a lot of time in her moist hide while Perri burrows under the aspen and lays on the glass...hmm...
Hades seems to be fully acclimated, very active, and climbs around a lot...had an offer on a beautiful oak trim aquarium that we may pick up and modify for him until we can find the materials for the custom ones we want to make...
night all!

Re: a good night! :)
Iris DID shed, it was a tattered mess, but nothing stuck to her her eyes are now completely cleared of all old scales and she is beautiful! I also did measuring this morning and on 11/29 she was 4 ft 1.73 inches and now she is 4 ft 8.48 inches! I can only imagine what is going to happen once I convert her to rats! no weigh ins this morning, she was NOT a happy camper, very hissy and defensive, so I put her back...
Hades grew an inch in 3 weeks, and Persephone grew 1.5 inches since the 29th
both corns have topped the 2 feet mark (growth of over 3 inches each in a month) but still seem to be hovering at the same weight as before which to me they both should weigh twice what they do maybe 1 fuzzy isn't enough but they only weigh about 45 grams each so I don't want to overfeed and cause a regurge?
Loki of course didn't get measured since she finally ate for me last night...i'm just so excited that the salmon trick worked for her hopefully she will go back to mice soon!

Re: a good night! :)
Yeah sounds like time to bump the corns up to two fuzzies and hoppers soon.

Re: a good night! :)
one fuzzy leaves a nice lump, you don't think 2 is too many? Odin did seem to be looking for another after her last meal, she has always been my garbage disposal...Perri is more finicky...sometimes she skips a meal here and there, or I have to really tease her...she also gently takes it from the tongs, where Odin attacks it like a monster...LOL

Hard to say without seeing them. My 4 month old black milk at 55g is already devouring 2 fuzzies about every 5 days. lol I haven't measured his length though. He is getting close to 20 inches.

Re: a good night! :)
i have a whole litter of fuzzies right now, maybe I will try and see if they take a 2nd one this week...they don't look underweight, but Perri is over a year old, and Odin is almost a year, so 45g seems like so little compared to what others say their yearlings weigh

Re: a good night! :)
From the pics it looks like they could easily eat 2 large fuzzies per feeding and maybe a small hopper.
