yes that is duct tape? will that hurt him? according to the previous owner who said he had him the full 10 yrs said it has been in the tank since shortly after he baught him and tank? i am gonna take it off and seal it with aqarium sealer instead. the tape looks terrible with it in there.

If that tape was to get on the snake at all it could cause serious damage to him. It can rip off scales and more. I would NEVER allow any tape in with my snakes.

it is on the outside of the tank actually, so it doesnt touch him and the glass is double layered so the crack is only on the outside, i was worried about that to till i gave the tank a good cleaning and sanitizing yesterday and was pleasantly surprised.

and i think today we will put some branches and climbing vines in the tank to so he will come out more often, i was told he is shy but loves to be handled but they havent had to much time lately and had him in a large room all by himself no other noises or signs of life, and my house is on the quiet side but it has life flowing threw it all the time and he seems to be ok when i have him out on my shoulders but when in tank he goes straight for what i call the snake mansion lol where no one can see him and he cant see you lol.
