I am one of the shy ones too. I saw a few faces I recognised, but like Topaz said, I would have felt weird going up to people and saying "Hi I'm HumphreyBoagart! I know you!" LOL!
People already give me enough weird looks as it is without doing stuff like that! I talked to a few people I know from here, and met a few that I knew who they were by their animals, but I wish that I did just introduce myself to ones that I thought I recognized. Next show if anyone recognizes me, please feel free to come introduce yourself to me, I won't think you're weird! : )
Jon, if I did see you there, I don't think I would even recognize you with your Ghandi hair! But I would be able to smell your delicious omlettes from miles away! LOL!
I think the "hello my name is" stickers would be funny, just to see the look on some of the non-members faces when they read our name tags and have no clue what the heck it's suppose to mean!
I'll definately be getting some weird looks with my "Hello my name is HumphreyBoagart" sticker on! LOL!
Sorry to blab on. I'm done...for now.
So everybody introduce themselves to anybody and everybody they recognize from here, Okay?
Craig

Actually, next show, I will definatly wear a " hello my name is Topaz" sticker.. would of made it A LOT easier finding you Craig... poor matt, comming up to him and trying to ask about you. :P But you GOTTA realise that when you work at the table of the host you become a central figure for the show!
Think we can find those stickers at a dollar store? maybe zellers?

LOL!
Well if you weren't an hour and a half late, that would have made it easier too! LOL! Just kidding! It's all good. I'm just glad we met up, because like 5 minutes before you got there, I sent my girlfriend around to find the best deal on a breedable pair of tang Albinos while I waited there for you. She just got back and was telling me where the deals were when Matt pointed you out to me. Thanks Again Matt! And thank you too, Ashley, they're nicer than the pics of them you sent me. Not that they're not nice in the pics too, everything always looks so much better in person. They are happily living in harmony with the five "normal" females in a 55 gallon that I set up with my favorite pieces of driftwood that just barely even fit in the 55g! And I don't know who said on here in another thread that they are strictly terrestrial, because they haven't stopped climbing on the drifwood yet!
Hump.
PS. Yeah the dollar store should have em. : )

Haha, I would have like to meet some more ppl too, maybe for April's show we should all invest in those "Hello my name is..." stickers
|
Great Idea. This was only my second show and tried the introduction thing my first time....I did get a blank stare...as I crawled back into the wood work.
I picked up some snake chow (ratsicles) and a telescopic snake hook from PCPC. I'm not really in the market for new herps right now, not that you can ever have enough but I don't have the space right now.
Nice to finally meet Ryan and discuss the status of our native species.
had a great time! see you in April

Or just post pics of their face, without silly masks and wigs on, not mentioning any names, Humphrey. Oops that's me. : )

I just came home with a bunch of feeders, and an adorable leo from reptile kings but it was for someone else My friend, though, she picked up a tiny snow corn, a leo, and a ball python, and my mother (tortle lover that she is) finally found a mate for her three-toed box!
I feel deprived, but the show was great and I wish I stayed longer to talk to more people! Name tags would be great! I think I recognized about a handful of people from the last show, and on ssnakess.
GREAT show, can't wait for the next one! Wish I lived closer!

We had a lot of calendar sales and t-shirt sales. We were also able to discuss the KTTC and the plight of road-injured turtles with a lot of people and that alone is very important. Of course, we also received a sizeable donation and Kristy (the veterinarian at the KTTC) asked me to pass on her gratitude to you Heather

Yes, it was good talking with you Doug. Hopefully we'll be able to collaborate in the future.

Sorry I'm late with my post. It's been one of those weeks.... my 'puter died last Wednesday and I just got it back. You know you're a forum addict when you head to ssnakess.com first thing after a week of no computer
Anyhoo...
I want to thank everyone who stopped at my table and especially those of you who bought some of my kids
Like so many others, I ended up buying though I hadn't planned on it. My best treasure from the show is the blue-eyed crested gecko from Linda (Painted Desert Geckos). I've been looking for a blue-eyed one for years!!
And Sam (Reptile Kings) had a female baldy tang leo that made eye-contact with me through the deli-cup. Need I say more?
Towards the end of the show I happened to have a minute and found myself at the PCPC table. Darn it, they had a striped gargoyle gecko baby, and I just happened to have the exact change in my hot grubby hand.

t was also nice meeting the dozens of people that I did today, Nice to finally put faces to names

If it was sooo nice to meet people, how come you looked like you were in a panic everytime I walked up to you? Worried about the crestie curse I was putting on you?
HeatherRose:

I got a wicked little crestie from Hilde She seems to get more red everytime I look at her, (I say 'her' hopefully) I'm very happy with her...
|
If "she" is too red for the colour scheme in the room, just let me know.

Hilde despite confusion and surprise, graciously held onto the baby tokays that were dropped off for me without her prior knowledge Just to remind you... you are not going crazy

I was kind of miffed when you showed up... I kinda liked the idea of free tokays

Wife got a female BP with a very long stripe. I gave in to temptation and bought an anthill python.
