What is it with reptile people and APBTs?
LOL! Maybe we are just people that tend to love things that have undeserved bad reputations. Here's a pic of our Pit, her name is Sophie and she was a rescue from the humane society. Seems someone moved and *forgot* to take here along. They left her tied up and pregnant with no food or water. She had 13 puppies that fortunately they found homes for and my boyfriend adopted her.
She has quite the life now, her own room, with her very own couch and plenty of food.

Suntiger:
Where'd you get the Kelpies...? I got my Sandy from the local SPCA, didn't know what she was when I got her, but I'm quite sure she has some Kelpie in her. Here's a shot of her, maybe you could tell, I've never actually seen one in person, unless she is one:
.
She's an awesome dog! She was abused, so she's really nervous around new people, but once she gets to know someone, she's really great. I didn't know they were bred in Canada, but admittedly, I didn't look very hard...
Cheers

Hello.
Sorry I gave no details. I was standing in my sister's wedding, no, I didn't choose the poufy dress, LOL. That is the only pic I have of my dog on CD.
Alex was my first dog, my first love, and my first heartbreak. I tattooed his likeness on my wrist after he died, so I can see him everyday for the rest of my life. *sigh* I'm still so proud of how handsome he was...

I'm so sorry Dragoon, that's the only bad thing about dogs, they just don't live long enough.

~suntiger~ will have some explaining to do, lol. She told me her dogs were mixed dingo and australian cattle dog. I also beleive they were rescue dogs but I'll let her confirm that.

As I understand it, that's basically what Aussie Kelpies are(or how they were first bred anyways). It's funny, alot of people comment that she looks kind of "Coyote-ish" too. She's a fairly small dog, sometimes people will ask "How big will she get when she grows up...?" Ummm, she's 6 years old, I think she finished by now... ![Smilie](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) When I first got her I thought she was part German Shepherd, so maybe that's why people think she'll get bigger(she's about 1/2 the size of a GS). If you look at her compared with a GS though, I don't really see a similarity.

Will,
I'm not sure what your dog is, but I'm no expert!! I got my kelpies (which are dingo/cattledog, Rob! lol) in a round about way. A relative of someone I know used to have a kennel company where he bred them, but when his kennel ended up closing had to get rid of them. As soon as I saw them I fell in love, and they became part of the family. I was told that he'd imported them from Texas originally.
BTW, they are not fixed and I am planning on breeding them!!

Just out of curiousity, they aren't a recognised breed, correct? If they came from the same kennel and aren't papered and you plan on breeding, how can you be sure that you have the best situation, genetically, for breeding? I'm just curious so please don't take any offense to my questions. Breeding tends to be a sensitive subject in a lot of cases........

Well, to the best of my knowledge they are only a recently recognized breed, and they may have HAD papers (I was more concerned about rescuing them, as the kennel closed under rather unfortunate circumstances.)

Thanks for answering my questions... ![Smilie](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) Sometimes this subject gets as bad as religion........lol. I hope all goes well for you.......
*EDIT: Just so you know, if you're interested in knowing if they were ever papered, you can find out from the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club)
