There actually no longer oreganus they made them there own species, it's just crotalus Cerberus. Crotalus can be a very confusing family to learn the names of because they are always changing there Latin names.

Well I guess I will chime in with my garter snake as it is rare and not seen at shows. I have a San Francisco garter snake. He does not look as striking as some of his kind I have seen, but he is nice. I will try to post pictures later.

I got them from my private venomous guy. I have a guy that can find me just about anything I want. Their temperament is calm, but very active.

Reason I ask is because of the huge variation from mountain to mountain with Cerberus and other crotes. So if some one has a cerb in mined that they want that they have seen pictures of online and they go to buy one thinking it's going to look like that, that may not be the case because of the variations, that's just why I like to know locals so I know what I am getting .

Yea I know, but I enjoy all the color and pattern differences, so it never matters to me where they come from. I know many people like locals, I'm just not one of them.

I totally get that. There are many species where it could be what some people would call dull or whatever and it's more about having the a species. Like most crotalus oreganus concolor are that way for me, usually a faded badge color but that's one of my all time favorite snakes.

I once considered buying a baby Elephant trunk snake. Pretty glad I didn't. The wrinklyness of them makes them quite adorable imo. But I'm not prepared for that kind of commitment, as I hear they're quite demanding care-wise! XD
I think in the future I'll stick with Asian vine snakes. They're very charming and I love their eyes!

Some of my Colubrids…
They are not really rare but also not common
Two Colubrids from south east Asia
Red tailed green rat snake (Gonyosoma oxycephalum)
Rhino rat snake (Rhynchophis boulengeri)
Perhaps the most exotic Colubrid for you US/Canadian herpers, a European rat snake
Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus)

You need to feed the vine snakes with lizards, so it might be difficult to get enough food year-round.
