Re: why so much arguing?
well i love this forum, it has helped me very very much.! but when i get rude remarks it will bother me so much. it can even make me sad at points. i like answers not criticism.. but its everywhere in the internet world. I'm not saying baby me and hold my hand I don't care if your blunt. but name calling can be an issue...

Well, let's not forget - the guys that like to stir up trouble or give attitude probably look like this...

Honestly I am no different in life than I am here. I have put up with enough BS that I no longer care. If the sensitive souls don't like what I have to say at least know that what I say is what I know. I won't post things I don't know

Well pony up and show where I said I was better than you.
For all of you with your panties in a twist my point is you don't get the dynamics of the site or the inside jokes. So instead of being offended sit back and learn before you start complaining.

Let explain how this forum works. There is a lot of history and inside jokes. Some people have nicknames like DC while others are called Ace and Gary. Just because you don't understand it or appreciate it doesn't mean anyone needs to start a thread. If I call Aaron the great knob gobbler that's okay because he is. Some people on here have consistently given terrible advice or are pathological liars, these people get treated how they deserve. Most posts people get upset about are because someone spoke the truth but didn't put any syrup on top. So that's just how we roll.
|
I did not say anyone was terrible - sorry you took it that way. Gee, thanks for your sarcasm.

" I got to admit to that it hasn't happened to me that much as right from the beginning I did lots of research so I didn't have to ask to many stupid questions"
I'm sorry.. I didn't know there were any stupid questions when people want to learn how to take care of their snake as well as they can. If asking questions here is considered stupid then this is definitely not the forum for me. Isn't one of the main purposes of this forum to ask questions and learn?

You're operating under the assumption that all questions asked are in the snake's best interest and the person is only looking to do what's best for the snake - which just isn't the case. Well-intentioned, reasonable questions should (and usually are) met with honest answers. There is, however, such a thing as a stupid question.

Re: why so much arguing?
I agree that there are some discussions that get a little out of hand here but I also agree with one of the other folks that said things have been getting a little better in recent times.
Besides, some of the more spirited ones I enjoy reading.

Re: why so much arguing?
The problem is when people come here looking for an answer to back up what they believe.. When we tell them that no,
" you shouldn't just stick 5 snakes together to save space." Or "get a thermostat on that CHE".... they get all upset as its not what they want to hear.

See that every day, on many forums.
It is unsettling when some people insist on continuing practices that we know is going to make their animals suffer because they refuse to listen to a little common sense.
that's usually when the unpleasant statements roll out.

Re: why so much arguing?
Exactly shaun....
I will always be nice to the first post, some people just don't know any better.
But when it becomes obvious that it's like trying to educate a brick, my patience ends.
