its a basically a box with sliding glass front mesa thinks. 8x4 cages with doors that swing open would be impractical. roof,floor, 3 walls, sliding glass front. you have to confine them to their enclosure or you will have lizards running around your house.

I believe it is a swing door. And that's not the biggest issue with free roaming, a bigger concern is that a house is not a suitable habitat for a monitor lizard, and if the cage is left open all the time, it won't be a very good home either..

I only allow them out of the cage for about 10 minutes a week TOTAL. That's maybe one quick venture out every few days for a minute or two at a time.

Currently as I type this post, the humidity in Togo Ghana (Africa) is 74%, I check daily and this is a low number, usually humidity is in the 80%+ ranges.

We cannot replicate this without a properly sealed enclosure, and allowing them to roam around in our houses is really bad for their health. Most homes have far lower humidity and most walls would grow black mold and rot if we tried to keep our houses that dank inside.
