Re: Profile: Kerrella
Kerrella looks gorgeous, Lil Boa! I'd estimate her to be at least four feet, but it can be hard to tell from a picture.
I would, however, cut way back on feeding. Snakes are prone to obesity in captivity, and this is especially true for rainbows. Obesity, in turn, reduces an animal's lifespan substantially. Rainbows typically "top out" at medium rats, and don't need a lot of them -- even the breeders who push it offer no more than a medium every other week (I now offer my adults a medium every *three* weeks; babies and juveniles of course eat more often).
I also almost never offer more than one prey item, the sole exception being if I am "out" of their usual size meal and have to use quantity as a substitute.
Again, she looks great...but I'd like her to reach a ripe old age!
Best regards,

Thanks for the advice.. its really appriciated!! however, i ONLY fed her 2 med. just because she was acting like she was very hungery still... (refer to other thread "very strange behavior"... so in hopes of snapping her out of a feeding response i thought to feed her again, and make it a bigger meal than what she is use to.. i usually only feed her 1 time every 3 weeks, but due to the circumstances i fed her again ... also the store said med. rats but they were small...
any way, thanks for the kind words!!

Re: Profile: Kerrella
so i have been terribly slacking with my "profile" threads and updates, i have been very busy with school/work/and building cages lol. last thursday was feeding day ( oct 13th) and i fed kerrellla her "small" rat, but they i believe are med or large... she only gets 1-2 a month and her attitude problem she has had had gone away... i can pet her now and she shows absolutly no feistyness at all!!!
here she is in her temporary cage after dinner.
thanks for looking, her new 4x2x2 cage will be done this week and she will be moved in hopefully in 5-7 days!!!
